I was similarly impressed by some material in Abraham this afternoon. Particularly chapters four and five, which deal with the creation. The more part of them is focused on the creation of man and woman. But among all of these things is a repeated phrase, and that is that once the gods undertook the action of creation, they paused to observe the obedience of their creations at each step.

Now presumably, they being gods and all, they had the creation “right”. They didn’t mess it up. And yet they patiently observed, inspecting that which they had created for obedience. It shows the care they had along the way toward the crowning creation of man and woman. From such, we can determine that patient observation for obedience is a god-like quality – they didn’t do it for themselves (being perfect and all), and they didn’t foul up the creation, so it must have been done because that is what gods do. For lack of a better phraseology, anyway.

Relating this to yourself, take care as you “create” your new source of income. Do all of the things you’ve already listed toward being obedient, but also take time to patiently observe and take inventory of the direction you are headed. Whether you want to land a new job or start a new business, taking time to see if you are on track toward your new “creation” doing what you wish is a good quality to practice at. Also helps to “take counsel” as they did, to lay out the plan ahead of time.

That’s fantastic, well inspired advice. I’ll take it. By the way, I love your comments, you’ve got a terrific command of language, create a wonderful (and “followable”) flow of reasoning, and always have such profound thoughts. Thank you so much for your contributions and advice.

This is great advice no matter what challenges we face. I’ll take it to heart on some of my own. So glad I found this blog!

Thanks for the kind words. Somehow I’ve developed a unique way about me…you aren’t by far the first to observe it. Nothing I set out to cultivate, as I’m just a dumb Okie. Probably my dad rubbing off on me. He’s a fairly well known physics professor…at least as well known as one can be in that station.

If you need me to drive down to OKC and knock some heads in retaliation at the central office, I can do that for you. Short drive for me. :D

I know several righteous people that have lost their jobs or not found employment now two years after law school. They decided to continue their education and continue looking at the same time. I think that rain falls on the good and the bad and God will try the faith of his people. Yes in the long run they will prosper, but that does not mean they won’t loose everything and be destitute for a few years. Bad things happen to good people.
